Are you worried about fine lines and wrinkles? Restore your youth with our expertly trained clinicians in Sutton.

Relax wrinkles with Botox® treatments in Carshalton

Fine lines and wrinkles are a natural part of growing older, but that doesn’t mean you have to live with them. They are caused by the repeated muscle contractions that fold the skin during normal facial expressions. In addition, they can be made worse by sun damage and smoking, which contribute to the loss of elasticity of your skin.

Men and women all over the UK are seeking facial rejuvenation with minimally invasive procedures. At Sensational Smiles, we use Botox® to smooth fine lines, wrinkles, and frown lines quickly and with very little discomfort, if any.

Botox® injections are ideal for the reduction of the lines and creases that appear with age. This product has been designed specifically to relax overused muscles on the upper areas of the face, such as the forehead, brows and around the eyes. A single treatment produces months of beautiful results. With repeat treatments for maintenance, many patients find that their skin remains smoother for a bit longer. Touch-up is typically recommended about every four months.

Personalised treatment for optimal outcomes

Your lines and wrinkles are unlike anyone else’s. Perhaps you have frowned in the sunlight for so long that you have a marked line right in between your eyebrows. Another person may visit us to have their eyebrows lifted with Botox®. Or, you may have laughed so much in your life, that you are interested in Botox for smile lines. In every situation, we perform a thorough evaluation of the area of concern. Sometimes, we may recommend a combination of treatments to obtain the desired effect.

What is Botox?

Botox is a substance that works by temporarily blocking nerve impulses. The contraction of specific muscles will cause the unwanted wrinkles, so we target these areas with Botox.

There are many different areas that can be treated with Botox. Some of these include:

  • Frown
  • Smokers Lines
  • Bunny Lines
  • Crow’s Feet
  • Gummy Smile
  • Nose to mouth lines
  • Tear troughs

How long does it take to work?

The treatment itself is very quick – normally, it doesn’t take any longer than 20 minutes to perform. In terms of the effects, you will usually start to see a reduction in wrinkles within 48 hours. The full effects can take up to 10 days.

Will it hurt?

We use the finest needles, so there is almost no pain during the procedure. Any discomfort is minimal and usually short lived.

How long does it last?

As the medication only temporarily blocks the nerve impulses, the results are not permanent and they normally last for three to four months. If you regularly get Botox injections done, the results can last longer.

Are there complications?

Botox itself is very safe. People have been using it around the world for 15 years without any serious reported problems. The most common minor problems include slight swelling / redness around the injection site, which normally dissipates very quickly. Typically, problems arise when too much Botox is placed in the wrong areas. As our clinicians work closely with the head and neck region on a regular basis, we understand the anatomy very well. For first-time users, we generally under-treat the area so we know what a good dosage is for you. We offer free touch-ups after two weeks if needed – that way, we keep unwanted effects to a minimum.

Does it look fake?

No – we only target very specific areas so the rest of your face looks exactly like it normally does.

Is there any post-treatment care?

You may resume normal activity, for the most part, after your Botox® treatment. Bending and lying flat should be avoided for the first four hours after your appointment. The day of treatment avoid vigorous activity and do not consume alcohol or use extreme facial movements. Gentle movement of facial muscles is encouraged, as this increases the uptake of the medication. Steam rooms should be avoided, and skin should not be massaged for two weeks post-treatment. This means no facials. These recommendations are made to minimise the spread of Botox® to unwanted areas.

An injectable alternative to neuromodulators for wrinkles is dermal fillers. These are generally used to treat loss of volume. Click here to see more information.
